Holiday Painted Ladies Walk

The houses on Mission Hill are often called the “Painted Ladies” as they are painted in a variety of pastel colors and are an attraction for tourists. San Francisco is home to many Chinese Americans and boasts of one of the largest Chinatowns in the United States. The Chinese New Year is usually around February of each year. Gay Pride Parade

San Francisco has always been a very liberal city and is very welcoming to the gay community. What started as a small demonstration about 30 years ago has turned into one of the biggest events in the city with over a million attendees. The Gay, Lesbian and Transgender Parade have branched out to include education about safe sex as well as various floats and entertainment. While most large cities have a gay pride parade, the parade in San Francisco is by far the largest. It is held the last Saturday in June.
