Community Standards and Safety

WELCOME TO ENCORE!

Our rules are pretty simple. Please be kind and respectful to everyone you encounter on our platform. Everyone deserves to be treated with decency and respect and this standard will be applied evenly across the board, regardless of who you are. Keep in mind that your actions or words, on and off-platform, can have consequences. If that isn’t clear enough, please feel free to continue reading the additional sections below. Furthermore, Encore is taking an explicit stance against hosting social circles and/or discussions related to politics or political issues, culture war issues, and other socially divisive topics. If this doesn’t sound like your cup of tea, there are numerous other platforms which cater to such topics for you to engage at your discretion.

“DON’T BE A JERK” & OTHER GOLDEN RULES

Hopefully, we’ve all heard some of these during our lives:

  • “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
  • “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.”
  • “Don’t be an a**hole.”

That said, here are additional “Do’s” and “Do Not’s” to follow for Encore:

PERSONAL AND PRIVATE INFORMATION

DO NOT publicly share yours or others personal and private information. Such information would include, but not limited to, dates of birth, social security numbers, passwords, passport information, financial accounts, personal phone numbers, home/work addresses, etc.

BULLYING AND HARASSMENT

DO NOT engage or abet in any targeted efforts to bully, harass, stalk, or abuse another person on Encore, online or offline. One might ask, “what is considered bullying,” or “how is harassment defined?” We recognize there are varying definitions applied to these terms. Rest assured, Encore takes a very broad and comprehensive view of the various definitions, and will treat with the utmost seriousness any such reported incidents.

PHYSICAL HARM AND VIOLENCE

Encore DOES NOT tolerate any actions or content that advocates for or threatens any sort of violence towards another person or group. This includes threats of, or advocacy of physical assault, coercion, terrorism, self-harm, etc. Any and all acts of violence are prohibited on the platform.

If you become aware of someone who is at risk of self-harm or suicide, first reach out to local first responders, and afterwards notify us at service@encoreday.com.

HATE SPEECH

Encore is a platform where standards of decency in speech will be enforced. Encore does not tolerate, nor allow any content that promotes, advocates for, or condones racism, bigotry, hatred, or violence against individuals or groups based on factors like (but not limited to) race, ethnicity, religious affiliation, disability, gender, age, national origin, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

MINORS

Anyone considered not of legal adult age is not allowed to use the Encore platform. If persons not of legal age are discovered to have registered and operating an Encore profile, such accounts will be suspended and erased. Adults using Encore are encouraged to monitor their children if they access the platform.

SCAMS AND FRAUD

Your snake oils, deeds to famous bridges, Ponzis, Madoffs, guaranteed return investments, and on and on…are not welcome here.
DO NOT engage in scams or other fraudulent and predatory behaviors that involve stealing, misleading, misrepresenting, et al. for personal or financial gain. Users found to be engaged in such scams will be removed immediately from Encore.

NON-CONSENSUAL SEXUAL ACTIVITY AND TRAFFICKING

Encore has zero-tolerance for anyone advocating, promoting, or engaging in non-consensual sexual activity, prostitution, human trafficking, etc. Violators will be banned immediately.

SAFETY & REPORTING

The online world is filled with new wonders and knowledge content for everyone to discover. At the same time, it can also be a dangerous space where scammers, hucksters, and worse lurk in its shadows.
At Encore, we encourage everyone to always be cautious, particularly when it concerns your personal and financial data. If something doesn’t seem right, then it’s always better to be safe than sorry.
In case you find yourself or others in imminent danger or threat to any person’s physical safety, immediately reach out to local emergency authorities first. Below are additional general safety guidelines for Encore users to keep in mind:
